Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you use the roofing calculator or request estimates, you give us your name, email address, phone number, the address of the roof, and your answers about the property. We also record which pages you used and, for the calculator, the estimate we produced for you. If you give us an address, we look it up against public property records to find the home's square footage so you do not have to guess it.

Why we collect it

Two reasons, and only two. To produce the cost estimate you asked for, and to connect you with roofing companies that work in your ZIP code.

Who we share it with

American Roofing Guide is a publisher. We do not install roofs. When you ask for estimates or use the calculator, we pass your name, contact details, address and project answers to roofing contractors who serve your ZIP code so they can contact you about the work you asked about. That is the point of the request, and it is how the guide is paid: those contractors pay us a referral fee. The fee does not change what you are quoted, and we do not take a share of the job.

You choose how many companies hear from you. The calculator asks whether you want one company or up to three, and we honor that answer.

Beyond that, we do not sell your personal information to data brokers, list buyers, or anyone else for their own marketing.

Text messages

If you give us your mobile number, you may receive text messages from American Roofing Guide and from the roofing companies we connect you with, about the estimate you requested. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.

Your consent to receive text messages, and your mobile number itself, are never sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Your number is shared only with the contractor or contractors matched to your request, for the purpose you asked for.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read. That is aggregate traffic data and is separate from anything you type into a form.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email privacy@americanroofingguide.com and we will act on it. Deleting your details with us does not withdraw them from a contractor you have already been connected with — contact that company directly.

To stop text messages, reply STOP. To stop emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email.

How long we keep it

We keep request records while they are useful for the referral and for our own records of what was quoted, and we delete on request as described above.

Children

This site is for homeowners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
